Sheheen Behri, LMFT Intern

As a trilingual immigrant, I am familiar with various experiences that enable me to have a deeper understanding of my client’s struggles and needs. Through working in the healthcare system treating emergency room patients and teaching teens in high school, I have refined my skills at guiding and helping individuals and families in stressful and difficult circumstances. Many of us grapple with a variety of issues, whether recent or farther in the past, that can hinder us from our inner potential and build the confidence required to reach our true selves. That is why I follow and implement a systemic approach to therapy, considering its straightforward ability to apply and mold to the client’s background and hardships. My varying experiences have taught me to be empathetic and understanding, as well as to think critically and solution-focused while practicing open communication and listening. This, combined with my familiarity with CBT, DBT, IST, and narrative approaches to therapy, has allowed me to treat each client’s needs and obstacles with compassion and veracity.
