Brooke Barret, LCSW-C

Niche: Postpartum, Anxiety Disorders & Depression

Asking for help isn’t easy, and many people wonder, “What’s wrong with me?” or “Why can’t I just feel normal?” Brooke understands how hard it can be to carry those thoughts alone. She believes the mind and body are extraordinarily resilient and capable of healing from trauma, anxiety, depression, addiction, grief, and more.

With over eight years of experience as a social worker, Brooke brings compassion and expertise to her work with adolescents, adults, and families. She draws on a variety of approaches — including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, Functional Family Therapy, Exposure Therapy, and grief-informed care — tailoring each session to meet the needs of her clients.

Her areas of focus include trauma, anxiety, depression, perinatal concerns, and grief and loss. As a veteran’s wife who has lived across the country before settling in Maryland, she brings a unique perspective and a strong sense of empathy to her practice. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, competitive sports, and spending time with her family.
