How We Can Support You

  • Adult IOP

Our Adult Intensive Outpatient Program provides structured, evidence-based treatment for individuals facing substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health challenges.

Studies show that IOP can be just as effective as inpatient treatment — while allowing you to stay connected to your work, school, and family.

What makes our Adult IOP unique:

Skills Labs: Hands-on practice with tools before applying them in daily life.

Psychoeducation: Clear understanding of the issues that brought you to treatment.

Family Involvement: Support for loved ones through groups, referrals, and resources.

Experiential Therapy: Art, movement, and expressive activities that build self-awareness.

Yoga & Polyvagal Approaches: Mind-body techniques for grounding and resilience.

Case Management: Guidance with housing, medical referrals, legal needs, and more.

Coaching: Core Energy Coaching™ to help connect inner purpose with real-life goals.

  • Adolescent IOP

Teens face unique pressures—from school stress to identity challenges to substance misuse. Our Adolescent IOP offers after-school support so teens can continue their education while receiving intensive care.

This program integrates mental health treatment and substance misuse support through group therapy, skills training, and family involvement.

Common concerns we help with include:

Anxiety related to school or peers

    Withdrawal from friends or activities

    Hopelessness, sadness, or apathy

    Academic struggles

    Substance misuse or self-harm

What Clients are Saying

“I was taught to stop beating myself up-this was so valuable to me as someone new to the recovery & healing process. And, that it’s okay not to be okay; this will pass. Being a part of this community at The Refuge will always be a part of my life til I die. A sober me is the best I can do for myself, and I thank The Refuge daily for helping me at such a vulnerable time in my life.

“It was very helpful to both have a venue to break up my previous routine and a venue to break up with my bad/old habits. I was able to learn more effective emotional regulation and process very specific situations to identify areas of improvement. In the group setting, there is no judgment-only warmth and encouragement from my peers and the group leader.”
