Niche: Children & Adolescents

Laura brings over 17 years of experience working with children and families in Anne Arundel County Public Schools. A graduate of the University of Maryland with both her BSW and MSW, Laura is dedicated to supporting children and families in navigating challenges with compassion and practical tools for growth.

She understands that every family has unique needs and works collaboratively to create treatment plans that foster meaningful, systemic change. Laura specializes in supporting children with special education needs, behavioral challenges, trauma, social-emotional concerns, academic difficulties, ADHD, anxiety, and depression. She particularly values helping children and parents build skills in emotional regulation, positive self-esteem, social connection, and resilience that can be carried across home, school, and community settings.

Her approach integrates CBT, family systems work, mindfulness, play therapy, and crisis intervention strategies, always grounded in evidence-based and research-informed care. Clients often describe Laura as warm, approachable, and deeply committed to supporting the whole child.

Having lived in the local area for over 55 years, Laura feels deeply connected to her community. Outside of work, she enjoys all things water-related, camping, and spending time with her five beloved dogs.
