It is hard to ask for help. So many of us think to ourselves "I don't know what is wrong with me" "What if 'this' happens? or "I just want to feel 'normal'". When it comes to our body and mind we are hardest on ourselves. I believe that the mind and body are extraordinarily resilient and capable of recovering from trauma, anxiety, depression, addiction, grief, and more.
Together, we can work through the thoughts and feelings that hinder you from functioning or cause you to avoid things you once enjoyed. I use a variety of clinical methodologies to support my clients: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused CBT, Functional Family Therapy, Exposure Therapy, and 5 Stages of Grief Model. My areas of focus include trauma, anxiety, depression, adolescents, perinatal, grief and loss.
I've been a social worker for over eight years starting in child welfare and juvenile detention in my home State of Michigan. Most recently, my clinical work has been with teens and families as well as those experiencing anxiety and grief. I’m passionate about assisting those struggling with pregnancy or individuals that are struggling with diagnoses or loss. As a veteran's wife I've lived all over the country and have found my home in Maryland. I enjoy traveling, competitive sports, and spending time with my family.
