Carrie has a client-centered approach, meeting each person where they are in their journey. She utilizes various clinical skills to assist patients, including cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, dialectical-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness techniques. She uses her skills to allow the ability to develop a solid treatment plan that can ebb and flow as goals are met.

She is a Certified Associate Counselor – Alcohol & Drug, completing her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She pursued this work because she is disheartened by the harsh criticism and negative stigma that is associated with substance use and mental health disorders. She wants clients to know they have a safe place free from those views. She has eight years of experience serving the co-occurring community. Her background includes working with court-ordered clients, outpatient co-occurring treatment, crisis intervention, and case management.

Outside of Lotus, she enjoys her work with problem-solving courts, including the Veterans Treatment Court. She comes from a military family and has a particular fondness for the military and veteran community. She loves spending time with family and friends. She especially enjoys watching her teenagers engage with their baby sister.
